Joe Biden’s Mythical Blue-Collar Roots
August 31, 2008
By Steve Chapman
TOWNHALL - Joe Biden once got in trouble for plagiarizing a speech and inflating his academic record. So it will not surprise you to find that his famous working-class background turns out to be mythical. But it may surprise you to learn that Biden isn't the one who has trouble with the facts.
In his Wednesday night speech at the Democratic convention, Biden referred to "those of us who grew up in middle-class neighborhoods like Scranton and Wilmington." In the video preceding his address, he said that the people he knew as a boy didn't regard themselves as working class but as middle class.
Barack Obama: International Man of Mystery
August 30, 2008
By Charles Krauthammer
NATIONAL REVIEW - Barack Obama is an immensely talented man whose talents have been largely devoted to crafting, and chronicling, his own life. Not things. Not ideas. Not institutions. But himself.
Nothing wrong or even terribly odd about that — except that he is laying claim to the job of crafting the coming history of the United States. A leap of such audacity is odd. The air of unease at the Democratic convention this week was not just a result of the Clinton psychodrama. The deeper anxiety was that the party was nominating a man of many gifts but precious few accomplishments — bearing even fewer witnesses.
Has Joe Biden Been Drinking On The Campaign Trail? Judge for yourself.

Is Barack Obama's running mate hitting the sauce on the campaign trail? Watch this video and judge for yourself. Obama has got to be kicking himself for picking Biden for VP, instead of Hillary.
Is The Obama Campaign Behind Anti-Palin Smear Site?
August 30, 2008
Suddenly appearing among the Google search results for “sarah palin gay,” a web site titled: Sarah Palin Supports Gay Rights.
Sarah Palin (GOV-Alaska-Republican), supports gay rights, says Anchorage Daily News.
Quote "Gov. Sarah Palin vetoed a bill Thursday that sought to block the state from giving public employee benefits such as health insurance to same-sex couples."
Quote ""It is the Governor’s intention to work with the legislature and to give the people of Alaska an opportunity to express their wishes and intentions whether these benefits should continue," the statement from Palin’s administration said."
Coghill said he’s interested in a new plan that would allow state employees to designate one person — maybe a same-sex partner, but also possibly a family member or roommate — who would be eligible for state-paid benefits. But the employee would have to pay to add that person to his or her benefits."
Sarah Palin’s veto gave gays the same rights as married couples in Alaska.
A vote for McCain/Palin is a vote for gay marriage.
Interesting. There’s nothing else on the page. This sure looks like the work of the dastardly right-wing anti-gay attack machine, doesn’t it?
Rockbama Does Invesco

HUMAN EVENTS - While Senator Obama was giving his acceptance speech at Invesco Field in Denver to tens of thousands of Fedzilla supporting numbskulls, I was busy pummeling musical fun gluttons at the New York State Fair with my R&B spirit-infested guitar as I’ve done over 6,000 times so far in my gravity-defying career.
My ace crew taped Senator Obama’s speech so that I could watch it after I got off stage and now I’m slamming this out on my laptop. I won’t go away. Write that down. Again.
Barack Obama and the Peacock

TOWNHALL - With much of the nation sampling TV coverage of the Democratic Convention, things are getting a bit dicey for NBC News. For months that organization has tilted heavily toward promoting Barack Obama for president, thereby violating traditional journalistic tenets.
According to a recent study by the Media Research Center, "NBC Nightly News" has the most lopsided pro-Obama coverage among national TV news operations. The MRC found that pro-Obama reports outnumber anti-Obama reports by 10 to one on "NBC Nightly News" — an amazing statistic.
Should Obama have picked Hillary?
August 30, 2008
By Rebecca Traister
SALON - Republicans dropped a news bomb on Friday morning, shattering the mile-high reverie of Barack Obama's Thursday night speech with news that John McCain has picked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to be his running mate.
The first thing you may notice about Palin is that she is a woman, the first female governor of Alaska and, at 44, its youngest. This is big news on a presidential stage: It makes her only the second major-party woman vice-presidential candidate in American history, the first in GOP history, and presents this forehead-smacking reality: Come January 2009, this country will have either a black president or a female vice president.
Even the AP Not Sold on Substance of Obama’s Nomination Acceptance Speech

FOX NEWS - Where's the Beef?
Even the Associated Press was not sold on the substance of Barack Obama's Democratic presidential nomination acceptance speech. AP writer Charles Babington's opinion piece was headlined, "Obama Spares Details, Keeps Up Attacks."
Babington wrote, "Instead of dwelling on specifics, he laced the crowning speech of his long campaign with the type of rhetorical flourishes that Republicans mock."
Obama Should Come Clean On Ayers, Rezko And the Iraqi Billionaire

WSJ - Even as Barack Obama gave his soaring speech Thursday night, his campaign was playing hardball with its critics.
Team Obama has launched an offensive against WGN, the Chicago Tribune's radio station, for interviewing Stanley Kurtz. Mr. Kurtz is a conservative writer who this week forced the University of Illinois to finally open its records on Sen. Obama's association with William Ayers, the unrepentant 1970s Weather Underground terrorist.
Muslims in fed terror probe making donations to Obama
August 29, 2008
WND - Islamic leaders tied by federal investigators to the radical Muslim Brotherhood in America – including one under active investigation for alleged terror-financing – have recently donated to Sen. Barack Obama's campaign for president, according to Federal Election Commission records reviewed by WND.
Jamal M. Barzinji earlier this year gave Obama $1,000, a gift that records show has not been returned. Other Democratic candidates, including Rep. Jim Moran, have refunded donations from Barzinji since federal agents raided his Virginia home and offices in the wake of the 9/11 attacks.
Barack Obama Reacts To McCain VP Pick
August 29, 2008
By Athena Jones
MSNBC - Obama reacted to his rival's pick of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as a running mate and walked back a statement put out by his campaign that called the governor inexperienced.
"I haven't met her before. She seems like a compelling person, obviously a terrific story, personal story. And you know, I'm sure that she will help make the case for the Republicans," he told a small group of reporters on Friday. "Unfortunately, the case is more of the same. And so ultimately John McCain is at top of ticket. As I indicated in my speech last night, I think that he wants to take the country in the wrong direction. I'm assuming Gov. Palin agrees with him in in his policies."
