   President Obama is bowing according to the customs of the person in front of him. Presidents, kings and queens all receive training on how to address rulers from different cultures.

   If he’d bowed to the Queen in the same way he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, he’d have been laughed at. Likewise, if he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia in the same way he bowed to the Queen of England, he’d also have been laughed at.

   Luckily Obama knew exactly what to do, and the United States actually looked good instead of being mocked by the global media.

   There are smart and stupid ways of hurting the King of Saudi Arabia.

   The really quick and stupid way would be to address him inappropriately, which would make the United States look ignorant, childish and cheap.

   The slower but smarter way would be to break U.S. dependence on Saudi Arabian oil. That plan is already in operation.

   One final thought. Before you criticise Obama for bowing so slightly to the queen, know this: the Queen of England bows to no one, ever. Of the many American Presidents the queen has met, she has never bowed to one. The King of Saudi Arabia has and does.

   And the person who made a big deal and video of the depth of the “bows” Obama makes to foreign dignitaries is an absolute genius – where has he been all my life?

   With this sort of insight we can solve all of our difficulties and policy differences.

   Unfortunately for your assertion, the Saudi King banned the bow and scrape (and kiss on the hand) due him from believers as the Protector of the Muslim Faith in his Kingdom.

   All the other G20 leaders gave handshakes.

   Since when has America ever had to bow to anyone? Stop trying to level the playing field Barack and stand up like the country you represent. Address him with our customs of a handshake and look him strait in the eye as an equal.
