Barack Obama’s first gamble: Clinton at State

November 20, 2008

By Ben Smith

POLITICO - What is Barack Obama thinking?

We’ve heard all the rational arguments: Hillary Rodham Clinton has more star power than Richard Holbrooke, more discipline than Bill Richardson, fewer bad jokes than John F. Kerry. She’s tough and competent. She’s a woman and a Democrat, making space for a Republican guy at Defense. It would get her out of the Senate. Both Obama and Clinton loved Doris Kearns Goodwin's book, “Team of Rivals.”

November 19, 2008

By Allahpundit

The good news? Ken Timmerman’s still on the case. The bad news? This one’s mostly a rehash of his earlier report. Berg V. Obama: Search for Obama’s Long Form Birth Certificate

November 17, 2008

By Thomas Latino

The nature of this case should give every citizen who holds the Constitution in high regard some pause and ask themselves several key questions. "Why isn't Mr. Obama simply releasing his Birth Certificate?", "Why would the DNC interject itself into this matter?" and "Why would the Obama team spend upwards of around $800,000 of tax-payer dollars to fight this case in court" and further "If this case was frivolous, why would the US Supreme Court ask for a response from the Obama team on or before December 1st?"

By Allahpundit, Hot Air

So reports Matt Lewis, per Steele’s conference call this afternoon with bloggers. And that’s not the money part:

Steele also warned that we shouldn’t “soft-pedal” our attacks on Barack Obama, “just because the President of the United States happens to be a Black man.” This, of course, presents the argument that Steele — an African-American — could be a more effective critic of Obama than could his white Republican colleagues.

He added that “the Obama campaign played the race card beautifully.”

November 14, 2008

By Andrew Malcomb

Well, Barack Obama's Senate career didn't last long — about 46 months.

But long enough to mount a 21-month campaign to move on to bigger digs. The Democratic president-elect announced today he'll resign his Illinois seat in the U.S. Senate on Sunday, just before the Senate is set to resume sessions. Something about a presidential transition period.
