New Gallup Poll and a Very Enlightening Conversation
October 16, 2008
Drop the Pepto, Immodium and Pepcid AC! The MSM wants you to believe the election is over and Obama has won, but Gallup says differently!
From the Drudge Report:
GALLUP's 'traditional' likely voter model shows Obama with a two-point advantage over McCain on Thursday, 49% to 47%, this is within poll's margin of error… Developing…
Also, a somewhat anectodotal story over at RedState "Conversations with an internal pollster for Obama" gives one hope to believe that MAYBE this election is NOT in the tank for Obama.
Did Barack “Spread the Wealth” Obama Just Blow the Election?
October 16, 2008
By James Pethokoukis
US NEWS - No. Really. You're kidding me. Barack Obama actually told that Joe the Plumber guy that he wants to "spread the wealth around." What, did Obama just get done reading the Wikipedia entry on Huey "Share the Wealth" Long or something? Was he somehow channeling that left-wing populist from the Depression? Talk about playing into the most extreme stereotype of your party, that it is infested with socialists.

October 9, 2008
The presidential race is still too close to call and could come down to the very last weekend before voters decide if they like or distrust Barack Obama, a national pollster predicts.

AOL Straw Poll: McCain 63%, Obama 37%
September 27, 2008
By Terry Trippany
NEWSBUSTERS - With all the mainstream media emphasis on poll numbers that supposedly show strong leads for Barack Obama I was wondering if there should be any analysis of an AOL straw poll that shows John McCain solidly beating Barack Obama in a random sample of hundreds of thousands of readers. A major difference between the AOL straw poll and that of other polls is that the AOL poll does not consist of people that are chosen by the pollsters. The poll runs over a number of days and is repeated on a weekly basis.
McCain moves ahead of Obama in new poll
September 8, 2008
Republican presidential candidate John McCain jumped slightly ahead of rival Democrat Barack Obama among U.S. voters according to a new poll, benefiting from his party's convention and a rousing speech by his vice presidential pick Sarah Palin.
Palin, a social conservative who opposes abortion even in case of rape or incest, electrified the party's base at last week's Republican National Convention with a sarcastic, slashing speech that took on Obama. But she still faces a major test this week when she gives her first nationally televised interview since McCain chose her as his running mate, instantly elevating the little-known politician to national status.
CBS Poll: McCain, Obama Tied
September 5, 2008
CBS - The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn't vote.
This is in contrast to a poll conducted last weekend, where the Obama-Biden ticket led McCain-Palin by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent.

McCain has also closed the enthusiasm gap some with Obama, but it still exists. Fifty-five percent of Obama's supporters are enthusiastic about their choice, and now so are 35% of McCain's. Last weekend, just 25 percent of McCain's supporters were enthusiastic about him, compared to 67 of Obama's supporters.
Obama’s bounce smaller than others
September 2, 2008
By David Paul Kuhn
POLITICO - Barack Obama’s post-Democratic National Convention bounce in the polls appears to be slightly smaller than the norm of past conventions, and it's gradually depreciating.
The Gallup daily tracking poll has found that since the conclusion of the convention, Obama has risen 4 percentage points in the polls, to lead McCain 49 percent to 43 percent today. That's a slightly smaller uptick in the polls than the 5- to 6-point bounce earned by a typical party nominee, by Gallup’s measure, since 1964. Obama and McCain were evenly split at 45 percentage points apiece prior to the Democratic convention, according to Gallup.

August 29, 2008
By Joe Murray
On the same night his party highlighted its plans to secure America's future, a new poll suggested Barack Obama voters are not sold on his capabilities to be commander in chief.
The poll conducted by CNN/Opinion Research suggests voters are not as confident in Mr. Obama on national security issues as they are in Mr. McCain.
